Writing Samples
I frequently wrote stories for the McKay School of Education's website. These stories were mostly spotlights and promotional pieces on the McKay School faculty. The stories helped publicize the accomplishments of the School's professors and increase the notoriety of the School as a whole. In the six months I worked for the McKay School I wrote over 15 articles, all of which were published on the School's website.

Social Media
As a member of the Social Media Team, I helped manage and contribute to the McKay School's Facebook and Twitter accounts. Every weekday we would post and tweet something to interest the students or promote the McKay School. In the six months I worked at the McKay School, the School's Facebook page increased from 750 likes to over 1,000 likes. Also, during that time we doubled the School's amount of Twitter followers.

Events and Contests
I assisted with the creation and implementation of the School's contests and events to engage the student body with the McKay School and its faculty. One of my ideas was to create a "Waldo Bottle" contest. Every other day someone from our office would hide our "Waldo Bottle" somewhere on campus. During that same day we would release a picture of the hidden "Waldo Bottle" on our Facebook page and through our Twitter account. Only those who followed the McKay School on Twitter or liked the School's Facebook page were able to receive these hints. This contest helped drive students to the McKay School's social media sites and also dramatically increased its amount of followers on Twitter and likes on Facebook.
I also helped develop a "Box Tops Contest" for the students of the McKay School. This contest pitted the students of the School's six departments against one another in a contest to see which department could donate the most Box Tops. We frequently provided updates on the "score" to the contest through the School's social media sites. The contest provided the students and faculty from the respective departments the opportunity to work together. Over 1,000 Box Tops were gathered throughout the contest and the money was donated to local schools with financial needs.
